Later Life Planning

Creating a Future That Fits Your Needs

Preparing for Later Life

We are living much longer than previous generations, which seems like good news to me. It means we get to spend more time with children, grandchildren, and maybe even great grandchildren, watching them find their place in the world.

But it also presents challenges which our parents and grandparents may not have had to deal with. Long life should be a blessing, but if it is blighted by poor physical or mental health it probably won’t feel like it.

  • We have all grown up with an NHS which we expect to be there for us from cradle to the grave. Sadly, this is not always the case with regard to care in later life.

We now have a system of huge uncertainty and complexity which means people struggle to understand what is available, where, and what the financial and emotional implications are for themselves and their family.

Can You Answer These Questions Confidently?

  • How am I going to pay for the care I need?

  • Can I leave money to my children & grandchildren?

  • What else do I want to leave them?

  • How can I balance my security and supporting my family?

  • It’s all so complicated and uncertain. Where do I turn for expert, impartial advice?

  • What can I do about my declining health?

  • How can I stay safe and keep my independence?

  • Can I stay close to family and friends?

  • Who will listen to my concerns about losing my home?

  • Do I have the choice of staying at home or going into care?

What Our Clients Say

“This was a difficult area for me, but Ian put me at ease from our first meeting.

He was very helpful and patient in explaining things in a way I could understand.

I had questions following other peoples experiences in this area, the questions were ones which were not yes or no answers but Ian did his best to answer them as best he could, his honest answers gave me greater confidence in him.

As a result of our work together I handed in my notice, have now stopped working and am looking forward confidently to the future.’ I feel Ian was definitely my get out of jail free card and cannot thank him enough’.”
